What is Waqara ?
Waqara is a lifestyle focusing on the importance of legacy and how we should strive to make it the best we can. Our values apply to individuals from every race and religion, as legacy is a trait that is common to all of humanity.
Waqara is a complex Arabic term, whose definition is greatly dependant on the context it is used in. It appears 9 times in the Qur’an with multiple meanings, depending on the verse. However, at its root, Waqara is a word used to describe something that is heavy, something that cannot be easily moved.
In the context of our brand, we extend this to mean something so metaphorically heavy that its effects will be eternal. Our Canadian brand is centered around this dogma; the actions we do on this earth and the interactions we have with others has a permanent effect in one way or another. It is imperative we try our best to leave behind a positive impact, and that is the essence of our brand.
Waqara was founded by Farhaan Khan and Haytham Alhamaydeh. At times where both thought that an Islamic clothing brand is their shared passion, they decided to start their own clothing brand to share and pursue the vision of bringing positive insights about islam to the western community through a unique style of arabic calligraphy and design.
Values We Live By
